Sustainability on the Pfänder
Sustainability and a love of nature are top priorities for the Pfänder Cable Car. It is a matter close to our hearts to help people experience the Pfänder as an unspoiled natural environment. To this end, we are implementing numerous measures and appreciate your contributions to maintaining a pristine environment.
- Pfänderbahn AG is Ökoprofit-certified and is committed to comprehensive climate protection through resource conservation.
- The seminar room on the mountain was built by local companies and has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings and Green Events.
- Visitors arriving by public transportation can obtain discounted tickets. Examples include combined boat-and-rail tickets and discounts with the KlimaTicket Austria.
We would be delighted if you traveled by bus (Line 101, Pfänderbahn stop), train (7 minutes from Bregenz Hafen (Harbor) station), boat, or—especially healthy—by bicycle.

Our Environmental Mission Statement
Relax, explore, and hold meetings at one of the most beautiful spots on the Lake of Constance, the 1,064-meter-high Pfänder. Our company’s cable car provides access to a wealth of experiences. Since 2019, our attractive seminar room has also offered the opportunity to host sustainable and nature-oriented events.
The beauty of the local natural landscape, with views of the Lake of Constance and the Alps, not only delights the senses and sparks creativity but also deserves to be preserved. Pfänderbahn AG is fully aware of this responsibility.
Sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices are just as much a given for us—and our partners—as the appreciation and use of regional products and craftsmanship. This minimizes negative impacts on the environment and benefits both a thriving tourism industry and the regional economy.
The seminar facilities give nature its space—they were built on top of the existing waiting hall at the mountain station to minimize the impact on green space.

To demonstrate our commitment to environmental sustainability, we strive to meet the requirements of the Austrian Ecolabel for Green Meetings/Green Events. Our Green Meetings/Green Events Coordinator, Birke Nußbaumer, is available to answer any questions you may have.

Energy-saving measures
Our goal is to take full advantage of all energy-saving opportunities within the company. When making new purchases, we prioritize energy-efficient equipment and products with low emissions.
Mobility
The goal is to encourage all participants to choose eco-friendly travel options. In the spirit of sustainable mobility, we are always happy to provide our guests with information about public transportation options—whether by bus, train, or boat. Thanks to excellent transportation links, all three are just a few minutes away. Our guests will find several bicycle parking spaces around the Pfänder Cable Car building.
Resources (Waste)
We are committed to reducing plastic waste in our seminar operations and beyond, which is why we use reusable containers for beverages. We are always open to suggestions from our staff or guests on how to further reduce our use of resources.
Communication
We want to inspire all our employees, as well as event organizers and guests, with the idea of a sustainable and eco-friendly seminar, and actively support the teams in this endeavor.
